Jeff Spec - Sneakerboxxx

So I'm sitting here jammin out to the latest work from Hip Hop artist Jeff Spec titled Sneakerboxxx. When I say artist, I truly mean artist. A lot of people use that term loosely, however this cat is just that. So imagine a new day sneaker head meets a true underground hip hop head meets the rock n roll meets the 80's meets The Grouch... That's Jeff Spec. I have had Sneakerboxxx in daily rotation for about 2 days now and I have to say that it is nice to hear the roots of hip hop come through my headphones. Jeff blends great story telling with true hip hop rhythms and beats. From track to track you can tell that Jeff really put his everyday experiences and heart into this project. From a hip hop "fan" point of view it is refreshing to hear an artist bleed and preach a real message such as sneakerboxxx. He has a long range of talent through out the album and it is definite. The tracks go from 80's hip hop beats to acoustic tracks. "Turn it up"... is a banger!! I am feelin it! I have to say over all this is "make you feel good" music with an upbeat message. You can cop Sneakerboxxx on iTunes or just hit him up on his website. Big ups to Jeff Spec from D

Pat Maine and MC Pig Pen

MC Pig Pen & Pat Maine - Old Hands by Pat maine
MC Pig Pen and Pat Maine have earned a reputation within the last
year as two of the hardest working, solo Hip Hop acts to come out of
the South West in a long time. Now, the two have teamed up on an album that is due out winter 2010. And, based on the sneak leak, 'Old Hands',
there is no denying that they put the same effort and hard work into their music that they do on
their touring; which is saying a lot. Pig Pen's aggressive and to the
point style, accompanied by the smooth flow of Pat Maine's in depth
rhymes, and a heart piercing melody on the chorus from Amber Lees make
'Old Hands' a very bright light into the future for these two aspiring
artists.
They are on the GREAT ESCAPE TOUR this summer...

TheSeKondElement - Dead or Alive Feat. Lyrikill
Very Very impressive artist TheSeKondElement from the BAY is hitting hard. I was put on to her a while back from the homie G-Eazy and have been listening ever since. TheSeKondElement to me is a cross of Lauryn Hill and the Cool Kids if that makes sense. So much soul with the edge of sneaker politics. At the end of the day I have to say she is a rising star. Her latest track CLOSER pt. II is ridicules.
Mickey Factz - Check Mate

New Mickey Factz, Check Mate, just dropped today. Factz album "I'm better than you" drops Aug. 24th.
N.B.S. - Ill Lyrical
Acclaimed east coast duo N.B.S. unleashes the first of their numerous visuals from the upcoming album "The Prelude" (to be released on Big Bang Records). "Ill Lyrical" is produced by hip-hop wonder kid Stu Bangas (who has contributed to projects by Kool G Rap, Jedi Mind Tricks, and Reef The Lost Cauze) and directed by "Bova" of the William Santi Group, this music video demonstrates why time and time again N.B.S. is the east coast duo to be heard. "Raw" in all senses of the word is the only way to describe the song and the cinematography.
