Dr. Dre ft. Eminem & Skyar Grey - I Need A Doctor
Ok... so Detox is starting to actually be real. It's almost like we are seeing a unicorn walking toward us from the distance. Hard to believe... I know. This is the first video off of the album and I am going to take the stand of "It's Dope". I know a lot of people are picking this video, song, and the whole detox project apart. I have caught myself doing that from time to time too. However... If you truly take a step back and look at the product that Dre is putting out... it is pretty fucking amazing. But... it is what it is and everyone will be blurred from all the hype and set there standards way too high expecting that the real Jesus Christ will actually be making a cameo in the video, walking on water, making ciroc out of Kool Aid, and breaking bread with Snoop and the gang... anything less will be a big FAIL. I know that's what you are all thinking and it's understandable. Well, I think it's still the same ole Dre and he is making even better music these days. I guess the moral of the story is that everyone just needs to do themselves a favor and let this whole detox thing breathe. It will be a better experience for everyone. The End.

Trebles and Blues - "The Blue Note" Album Intro Video (03.01.11)

Looking for a producer(s)??? This isn't a bad place to start. This vid is the intro track from producer Trebles and Blues' DEBUT album "The Blue Note" which is set for release on March 1, 2011. Contained under the Soul Dojo Music Group umbrella - Trebles and Blues is in great company - and from what I can tell, a perfect fit for the collective. Typically I wouldn't take the time to post anything that's only 1:02 in length - but I made an exception in this case because I happen to know for a fact that anything coming from Trebles and Blues and the rest of the Soul Dojo camp will most certainly make my head nod. So enjoy the video and make sure you check out the links we've provided to Trebles and Blues and the rest of the Soul Dojo Music Group.

Zero Star - The Ink Pen Method (3 song Download)
Another talented artist out of Columbus, Ohio by the name of Zero Star is in the process of making a MAJOR impact in 2011 and beyond. With the personal support of artists such as Blueprint, Illogic, and Ill Poetic (to name a few) and the professional backing of Blueprint's Weightless Recordings - there's really no telling how far Zero will take his crafts. I had the pleasure to meet Zero a few years back and I gotta say that he was one of the most humble and grounded artists I'd ever met. It's great to see that he's gearing up to deliver us some incredible Hip Hop for the near future. To start things off - Zero has just released a 3 song collection called "The Ink Pen Method" which is available for FREE DOWNLOAD below:

2-Pac - Strictly 4 My Niggaz
Here at D&M we try to give you throwback joints on Sundays A.K.A "Sunday Throwback". So this morning as I was woken up at 6a.m. by my best friends dog Pivo, that has been joyfully pissing on everything in my house, I was trying to think of one album from back in the day that was a game changer for me. The first thing that came to mind was 2-pac's "Strictly". I know these days people think of 2-pac as an older rapper that had a big influence on the game, but may not really understand him. I mean let's face it... some kids these days just don't get it. I remember going to a tiny local record store back in February 1993 when no one really knew who 2-pac was at the time. I spent hours sifting through all the new albums not knowing what I wanted, but knowing I wanted new music. See back in the 90's a "record store" was our version of "itunes". I know... hard to comprehend for all you little caterpillars, but it worked for us. So as I was at this record store, I came across this new album "Strictly" that had just dropped. I copped it only knowing 2-pac from his single "Brenda's got a Baby" and from digital underground. Back then it was a "tape"... literally. Not a "mixtape"... I mean a physical tape. So long story short I threw it in my stereo when I got home and listened to it from beginning to end. I was hooked. The edgy content, crazy delivery, and piercing beats changed the game for me. I understand that now a days people think of 2-Pac as a legend kind of like a Bob Marley or James Dean to some degree, but back then he was just another dude trying to break through. That's what made that point in time and this record so special to me. It's not everyday you discover a legend in the making, but back then that was exactly what it was. So that's my story and I'm sticking to it. You can download the album from the link below.

While seducing listeners with his smooth mellow voice, creative wordplay and soulful yet jazzy loops n beats - 6th is quickly rising as a star in the Hip Hop community. He is writing the score for a generation of hip hoppers who are not impressed with chains and rims, but more so with mic and production skills.
