Anyone who remembers the Hip Hop Weekly series knows that Crooked I can more than hold his own over any beat. Listen as he does his C.O.B. thing over Nas' single. "The eagle got a kick like David Akers/ The pistol got a Pau that should've saved the Lakers."
Kosha Dillz with an MTV U premier of his latest video All These Years. This is just after the surprise collab he did with the Wu master RZA. Mr. Dillz is definitely not playing around these days. Hit the jump for the vid...
If you have been paying attention you probably know that G-Eazy has been working on a new album titled The Endless Summer. Today G decided to leak the album art and a track called Make Up Sex from the project. The fact that this project has a vintage feel to it both visually and sonically gives it a unique vibe that straight fire. The album drops August 9th on G-Eazy.com.
"We all got a little bit of bitch in us..." This is one of the first tracks I ever wrote (99'/00') and didn't record it until 05'. One of my personal favorites but rarely anyone else's. P.S. My phone number is still the same and I can give you my SS# as well...just email me.
This past Saturday 7/19 The best B Boys from across the United States battled it out for their chance to represent the US at the Red Bull BC One World Finals in Moscow Russia. All battles are one on one, mano-a-mano, and each B Boy left it all on the floor. El Nino from Boston ended up taking the whole thing and will be reppin the US.
Talk about a slept on emcee who has been putting in work on both sides of the mic coin. Born in the west but reppin for the east Lock will be putting out 2 projects this year. One will be EMBEDDED executive produced by Ski Beatz and the other will be called Labyrinth produced by E A Ski. Its the year of the Lock.
It's Hoodie Bitch! Leap Year is the latest project from Mr. Hoodie Allen. I just had the chance to listen to it from top to bottom. Some things that pop in my mind... fun... crazy... sarcastic... introspective. Hoodie has truly grown as an artist from his clever lyrics to his real life content. This is like a high energy romantic comedy that ends a murder mystery that never gets solved. In other words you really can't categorize Leap Year in any type of box. It's just really Hoodie. Dope mixtape... Now go download it...
LRG in conjuction with Jamala Records and DJ Booth blesses us with one of the most highly anticipated mixtapes of the year. The 18 track project Still Hotter Than July is the second album in the Stevie Wonder sample inspired series, cop the first one HERE. Executive producer Enigma is joined by Soul Council members E. Jones, Ka$h, Khrysis and Amp.With guest production by 9th Wonder. I have a feeling that this is one that I'll be bumping into next summer. For the tracklist and the download shoot the J.

“This record is my greatest accomplishment by far. It took me seven years to actually build up strength & courage to write this”, says Chi Knox. "This record is for all those are dealing with loss and trying to find peace within themselves going through their own personal loss, It will make alot of people cry". - Chi
Bay Area Lefty is joined by Dextah for this 6 track project. The hardcore lyrics and piano heavy samples are reminiscent of pre swag east coastness. Have a listen to the title track remix featuring the homie Reef the Lost Cauze.
You can tell that someone is important when they are referred to by one name. However, the connotations with those famous mononyms are less than favorable to some. When you say Madonna, half the population will think “pop icon,” while the other half simply thinks “phony,” or “whore.” When you say Prince, most people might think “genius,” or “visionary,” while others might think “pretentious asshole.” When you say “Sinbad,” some might think “washed up comedian,” while others might think “Satan.” BUT, when you say “Pharrell,” there are no words that come to mind. This is because no adjectives are strong enough to describe what he means to music and modern pop culture. If talent were measured in weight, Pharrell would be the fattest maw’fucker you have ever seen. If hip hop music had a pope, it would be Pharrell. Insert Chuck Norris joke, then replace Chuck Norris with Pharrell. (hit the jump to continue)
Got this inboxed. At first listen I was like Autotune eeeehhh... but I gave it some time to settle and I kept listening. This is when I got smacked with a little dirty bass. I can dig some dirty base. It transported me to a time when I was at a rave getting massages and catching sea breezes from sweaty skinny girls wearing next to nothing. I'll never forget that night... or the headache I had the next day. Is that how they party in VA?
The funny thing about this is when ever the homie e.d.g.e sends over new material I have this little voice in my head that says "Damn... this dude never stops!". Now he sends over Work Harder... I feel like a bitch trying to keep up... LOL. S/O to e.d.g.e and shinobistalin on a dope track.

Mr. J. Medeiros continues to challenge the emotional and musical standards of Hip Hop today. This is a track that did not make the cut for his latest project Saudade. However, that doesn't mean it's not fire. Take a listen.
Dave Galaxie had me believing that he was a Chicago emcee I hadn't heard of yet. Wrong! he's habitually line steppin! I know this thanks to KN. It's just a moniker Thaione Davis is going by these days. This self produced banger we're getting blessed with reminds us that you can't hold a man down when he is in his element.
