The Notorious B.I.G & Michael Jordan - Arguably The Best Ever

Let me just start by saying it's been a long ass day! I'm usually not a whiny little bitch, but today just kicked my ass. I won't get into the details, however I will say it was 14 hours of unfun. The question is... what does one do when they have 14 hours of unfun? I could hit the clubs and rage until I puke my brains out like any normal D&M hip hop writer with a drinking problem would do. It kind of makes sense, but this time I've decided to be responsible. I'm going to stay in, sit in front of my computer, and write about Notorious B.I.G while drinking until I puke my brains out. I'm going to ignore the fact that Toy Story 3 is playing in the back ground with no volume along with Ready To Die in my headphones. Nothing like seeing Buzz Light Year sing "Gimme The Loot" while I try to summarize the thoughts that have been running through my head for the last hour. All randomness aside let's get into this.

As I was perusing through the world wide web tonight and I came across Biggie's video for "Bullshit and Party". If you're not familiar with the visual, it's black and white vintage, circa 1993, of Biggie performing at what looks like a back yard barbecue. You even get a cameo from young ass Diddy when his name still rhymed with Muff Patty. I'm not sure on the details, but it's looks like a summer jam that most of us would want to be at. While listening to this super dope track I started to think about how good Biggie really was. Seriously tho... he is arguably the best ever. Who really compares? Big L, Tupac, Rakim, Big Pun, Jay-Z? There are a hand full of lyricists that you could throw in the mix of an argument, but at the end of the day you have to remember the movement that Biggie started. Think of all the weapons B.I.G had tho. He made being clever, ugly, and true something that everyone looked up to when it really wasn't the "in" thing to do.

When ever the Biggie argument comes up it always reminds me of the Michael Jordan argument I get into with my good friend and "super Kobe fan" Ricky. It always starts with "Who is the best of all time". (laughs)... The funny thing is that these two greats have been out of the game for so long that people sometimes forget how venomous they actually were. That is the beauty of youtube. The best way to get an edge on the conversation is to just say "let me give you a reminder... youtube that shit". Once the reality is in front of you it's pretty obvious. These cats are the most legendary of their craft. Michael Jordan is arguably the best ever to play the game of basketball, while Biggie is arguably the best to ever spit a rhyme. I would have to say that I could out debate the best of them when it comes to Biggie and Jordan hands down. Throw anything at me... who would win in a fight? who had the fastest car? who had more swagger? anything!...  I have the answers. (more laughs) The drinks are running low, so I'm just going to end this by saying they are both arguably the best ever, but Jordan is better than Kobe. The debate continues...
