First of all, anything with an OG Eddie Murphy stand up intro is getting played. Second of all, this joint is fire so pay attention. S/O to SEMI..

STS and his production crew have the unique ability of flipping an existing song into something new and original, making it sound like a brand new track. Not only are each of these dope on their own,the entire album is whole, has a progression and feels complete. The flipped tracklist is what the red carpet at the Grammy's should have been.
The Gorillaz get the help of three stacks and James Murphy for their latest track. I had a dream similar to this the other night... no joke. This is such a dope video.

We've all been there... lol. Dope track.
Chicago spitter Neak just dropped his latest project entitled Love Greater // The Prequel via our friends over at djbooth, earmilk, and prefix mag. He keeps it true to hip hops roots with a smooth progression to his own sound. You definitely see growth in Neak's style from the jump on this one. Hit the link below to check it out.

Rashid drops another soul driven banger that reminds us all that we still love H.E.R. Even if she ain't coming back. This is the fourth visual off Aural Sex: The Search For Pinky Tuscadero. Mr. Hadee will be dropping another installment next Tuesday....Is that Neak stealing Hadee's girl?!

The one and only MOD SUN links up with The Ready Set for 100% awesomeness.
If K.R.I.T is king of Mississippi then Tito Lopez is the hier to the throne. The Mississippi repper has recently been in the studio with both Dr. Dre and ATL's Organized Noise. Enough said right? Wrong. I can't say Tito's name withougt mentioning his ability to create an emotional connection with his listeners (ala Drake) but without sounding emo, sweet or corny. If this is the first time you've heard Mr. Tito then your day just got better. If you already have the Lost Files then you already know... This is the remake of some older tracks that got compiled and then got reloaded. *Scratching my head. Oh well, I'm hyped just to post more Tito.
For the tracklist and download shoot the J.
One of our favorites, Mr. J. Medeiros just sent over a brand new joint produced by Stro Elliot. The haunting vocals from Giannina Ashe will grab your attention right from the beginning. Then the electronic instrumental hits along with Mr. J's vocals. Pure dopeness. The Find Magazine is presenting a limited edition 7" vinyl single HERE.

These days The Cranberry Show camp is riding pretty high. They definitely have the streets talking. The success of their latest album Paranormal Karaoke has caught national attention. In the last month they have been working the promotional circuit hard from Milwaukee to NYC and back. While in NYC they had the chance to hit the studio with a couple legends just before rocking the stage at SOB's. This dynamic duo has accomplished quite a bit in a short amount of time. Word on the street is that they have a few more tricks up their sleeve. The recent release of their video, The Best Week Ever, pretty much sums it up. A couple weeks before they dropped their album Paranormal Karaoke D&M's A'Drego got the chance to link up with them. Hit the jump to see how it all went down.
Released in 1997 Rhyme & Reason was a study in the world of hip-hop. It's objective was to see why it's as popular as it is today and what the future held. Done mostly in interviews and live show footage R&R is a gold mine of early talent. Featuring: Nas, Method Man, Q-Tip, Ice-T, Puff Daddy, Biggie and Guru to name just a few.
I've said it before and I'll say it again... the West Coast is runnin shit these days. Don't take that the wrong way. There is great music everywhere, but the West seems to be on point lately. Tate Tucker is yet another reason I say this. This is the latest from the L.A. representative. Do yourself a favor and get this now.
El Hefe and the People's Ensemble just let loose volume three of their beat tape series. They kept it consistent with a very soulful collection of instrumentals for your listening pleasure. Hit up firstname.lastname@example.org to get in touch with the El Hefe camp.
You know what time it is. It's supposed to be the mafuk'n pregame but i got drunk and forgot to post this until just now... Time to get to it juk'n regardless. This week the Chicago Dj's dropped the Total Recall ep for all those jeffrey smokin robot lovers. Although I don't condone smoking anything named after your conniving neighbor, I do want to promote robot love. Be safe! Have fun.

So I've heard there are no cool points for dying. However, there are cool points for having an 8-bit album cover of lil Mac about to knock the shit out of Soda Popinski. There are also cool points for creating a super dope EP along side Just Plain Ant and Dj Hermski. Octavion X came correct with his new project. S/O to RTF on the premiere.
Aight so, Mishka and MAD DECENT link to drop BBU's latest project on us. I wanna say that bells hooks if blue fire. Like Misha's usually do, the tape is different and kinda wierd but in a dope way; It's weird in a good way like when you first meet your sexy third cousin. It blends dance, hip hop and alot of curse words. It's mind fucking me right now... Chi don't dance no more... all they do is piss.
These two Brooklyn cats link and get BUSY over a what sounds like a RZA meets Prince Paul joint (Gravediggaz). Thing is when that first Gravediggaz album dropped these two were still just precursors to embryos (sperm). Considering Joey and Cap are still just 17 they are ahead of their class in both maturity and style points. Listen in, they fire shots at the Based God lol. I'm loving the Panda Ski mask as well.
I had a nice few days off the grid. Time to get plugged back in and get caught up. lol... I have to stop watching the Matrix... but really tho... this is e.d.g.e's latest from his upcoming mixtape entitled Destroy & Rebuild. S/O to themadbloggers.com, the9elements.com, and flydefinition.com on the premiere.

Nature Sound Music drops a visual for the NYC rapper/ producer Scram Jones. These are the joints that keep this culture breathing. The ones that ask questions and challenge the machine. In other words it's the undeniable truth. Look out for a new album dropping soon.
"And it's more than a metaphor like how my enemies are ppl that I helped before? But why give back? they got what they gave for. Why share the pot when they can always go make more? Why shoot straight when sideways looks so cool? Why play a game when there's no rules, I'm no fool."
What do you do when you find washed up blood on the beach? If your Rockie and the Kickdrums you feed it to the people... It get's them going.
Looks like Rock drove 88 to the East Coast and managed to make some dope genre spanning music. This joint will appear on the Kickdrums upcoming mixtape that will be featuring some more surprising collabos ; MGK & A$AP?! This should be interesting.

Our friend Nobody Famous premiered his latest project today via DjBooth.net and KN. This is jam packed with all his favorite work from 2008 to 2012. He also added a few brand new tracks too. Go to thelifeandtimesofreggie.com to check out his cartoon mini series that complimented this release.

Beyond Belief blesses us with the fourth installment of his weekly Breaking Bad. The entire thing is in house for BB it's all completely written, performed and directed and edited by the 24 yr old spitter. Sullen R&B samples plus a minute and a half of all flow no hook is fine by me.
Last week we featured "Nothing" and judging from the feedback the readers loved it. This week M.i redefines rollin solo with his latest project The Coldplay Sessions. Other than a little digital distribution help from AO and DJ Booth, gmad and a few small features, he took care of this project like it was a baby raised by a pack of wolves. Written, directed produced and anything else that could have gone into this 15 track album was all well done by M.i.
With TCS M.i does an incredible job of revisiting a few old concepts... closure to an old relationship, frustration in an overpopulated game and maxin with Mary Jane. What Sets M.i apart is his melodic delivery clever wordplay and unique sampling. TCS is comfort food for your ears, it's something we can all chill and relate to without over-thinking anything. Strictly just good music. For the tracklist and download shoot that J.
BBAS affiliate The Audible Doc and Maticulous form to create Audimatic. This second leak off the Maticulous EP is a toast to broken dreams. Why would you toast to broken dreams?! Well while broken dreams can make us feel defeated, they can also act as a catalyst for change. Like a fallen red cup in beer pong for instance. It's easy to think: "Damn, I know that dude missed the shot but he hit the cup and it slid off the table. Now I'm one cup closer to defeat." Don't just get all sad Panda and stay losing. Next time you lay that beer-a-mid down first wipe the beer off the table so the cups don't slide... What I'm sayin is a broken cup can really suck, but depending on your perspective it can also make you think like a champion... Toast to that.
In prep for Nobody Famous' new project The Life and Times of Reggie, Wax decided to let loose a previously unreleased track produced by Nobody Famous himself.
Every now and then you have a quality album cross your path that you have to stop and take the time to really listen to. Really though... how many top notch albums do you think you let slide out of sight because you didn't want to take the time out of your busy schedule to listen? Especially in todays world of short cuts and drive thru's. Everyone wants the cliff note version to save time. I'm going to do you all a favor and let you know that this new Luck-One & Dekk project is one of those top notch projects. Everyone should stop and smell the roses on this one. The duo managed to intertwine perfect production with introspective vocals that capture your interest from the Introduction. Although all of the tracks are dope and perfectly placed, my favorite joints have to be Sword Or The Pen and Looking Back. They are both self reflecting tracks that are weighted heavy with character. Luck-One & Dekk have definitely taken the time to do things the right way on this project. If you are into quality over quantity you will definitely be into Beautiful Music Part 2.
"Me and Dekk are like mortar and brick with a little more swag and metaphorical flip" - Luck-One

One of the coolest things about G is the fact that he has an undeniable ability to create a unique addicting sound. He always seems to be two steps ahead of the game when it comes to originality. In his new joint Marilyn, which is the first single from his new album, he called on indie New Orleans songstress Dominque LeJeune to assist him with her vocal expertise. The track touches on the ups and downs of an intense relationship from his perspective. The vocal "give and go" from G to Dominique paints a perfect picture through out the track. I would have to say it's a hit. S/O to Interview Magazine on the premiere
S-Mak looks like a boss but sounds more like God's son. His boastful lyrics, speedy delivery, joined by a smooth flow are what make this young rebel in my eyes a lost emperor... make way. If your feelin this visual make sure to cop the mixtape: 20 20. Watch for S-Mak and DJ Skee to colab on his next project #MADMAK set to drop in Spring 2012.
Portland spitter Sapient is back with his latest project Gunwings. This is a revisit of Sapients 2010 album Barrels For Feathers. Each song is reshaped to resemble the original, yet reveals a new dimension. Very dope project.
Sapient ft. Luckiam - Glorius Day Redux

It's not hard to tell that Marcky Goldchain has a 90's golden era influence. From the Martin Lawrence intro to the NWA clip in 40oz to the Scottie Pippen reference in Stadium Status. Vice City Life is 13 tracks true hip hop goodness. A great project from beginning to end... keep Marcky Goldchain on your radar because the kid is dope.
Better late than never but never late is better. Young Kembe X is building a big buzz at a young age (he's only 17). He's been getting attention from tha god Big Ghostface and even the colossal Rap Genius. His introspective lyrics and story telling ability are a breath of fresh air in a overpopulated genre. I'm seeing big things for this Chi-town spitter, here it is, Sawbuck (that's ten dollars buster.)
Another new joint from the Ground Up team. Their new project The Get Up drops 3-6-12.
Is it too early in the morning to choke a bitch? Jokes... Choking a bitch is never a good idea... Unless it's done properly.

DJ Spinna has been responsible for some of the greatest production, remixes and mixtapes to come out of NYC since the mighty golden era. Spinna shows us his personal beat lab (Thingamajig Lab) and lets us in on his musical techniques, equipment and influences. Spinna gets busy on the Dilla approved MPC 3000 and he takes the majority of samples and breaks from his extensive record wall that could substitute as a beat museum. After seeing where Spinna weaves his magic shoot the j and peep some of his best work through the years.

You know what time it is. It's the muthafukin pre-game. Time to get foolish. This week Kanye's former tour DJ blesses us with the Febuary 2012 mix. The Canadian kid wonder is spinning choice house, electro and bass cuts for us to get hyped too. Get your red cup, your wolf mask and make that booty clap. For the tracklist shoot the j. Be safe and have fun!
Aight so usually I wouldn't get all amped up over a single track but this ain't no every day run a the mill shit. When this shit drops it's gonna make you wanna call your first grade teacher and ask her out on a date. I mean from the get we got two five star generals, Mega and Large Professor, on top of that you add Bronson The Chef and and mix in some Roc and Saigon! That's a fuckin recipe right there, some next level outer space leak status dopeness. No wonder its called M.A.R.S.
High Five Collective are a group of visual artists out of LA that point cameras and make some amazing music videos. True taste-makers, their uncanny track selection is what sets them apart from the rest. H5C Chooses choice cuts like The Weekend's "The Morning," Theophulis London's "Love is Real" and Tyler The Creator's "Transylvania" as a soundtrack to visual creative genius. The unsanctioned videos are done in a cinematic style, they feature believable acting and tell stories of distress, love, violence and partying. The videos take center stage while the cuts act more like a soundtrack to the dramas. If you like this video shoot the J and check out a few more!

A couple of my favs... Thirtyseven a.k.a Humpasaur Jones a.k.a Hump Jones a.k.a Thirstyseven a.k.a Rapey on the Eardrums and that handsome devil Godforbid just dropped off an oldie but goodie. This joint was originally recorded in 2007, but never really circulated. They decided to re-release it today. Look for more to come from these amazing super heros soon.
DJ Premier ft. Nas, Apathy & The Berklee Symphony Orchestra - Regeneration Remix (Produced by Apathy)
Just got my hands on the latest leak from Keno and Haz Solo's sophomore project Eighty-Three. They linked up with TUS member Chuuwee on the vocals. The Top will blow off of your speakers if you're not careful with the volume on this one. Dope track...
2DBZ Shake and Meka unleash the NYC cliques latest project. From the riff heavy "Rottweilers" produced by J57 to the soul sampled "I Fucks With That" by DeeJay Element the entire EP screams 10001. This is one of those projects that will get you lacin up your Tims to go hit the cold streets. For the tracklist and download shoot the J.
"See I was born in Queens, Jackson Heights Colombian chicks n'Salvadorian percusas* I'm in love wit em kid, I like salsa guacamole with girl that I am bonin I'll be double dippin honeys limpin mornin walk her home"... I FUX WITH THAT!
One of my favorite brands, Mishka, just dropped a teaser for their Spring 2012 lookbook. It's has a ton of camios such as Danny Brown, Das Racist, Action Bronson, Mr. Mutha Fuckin' Exquire, and more. The tracks playing are Children of the Night's Kids From Queens and Mr. MFE's Bear Tricks. Check it out...
The Life and Times of Reggie - 2-23-12
My first thoughts on this were pretty impressive. In the hip hop indie scene you usually see a video and by the time you get done watching it your first thoughts are something like... eehhh, that was typical. Not in this case at all. Not only did Luke Christopher step up to the plate with an impressive track, he orchestrated a video to match. This is one of the rare occasions that an indie artist creates a masterpiece by meshing visuals to match the vocals. Great stuff right here.
Blax links up with TheMadBloggers.com and RockTheDub.com for the release of his newest project Blax x Life x Files. Blax recruited the talent of Chicago's Mikkey Halsted, Milwaukee's Dana Coppa, Atlanta's Playboy Tre, and more for this album. From top to bottom, this is Hip Hop at it's finest. You can stream the full project after the jump.

These days when it comes to Memphis the first thing that comes to mind is country shit, and when it comes to country shit these days K.R.I.T holds the crown. When your the countries king it's easy to stray the southern mob away from whats righteous towards the malevolent. K.R.I.T recognizes this and shows us he is a benevolent king and will help lead the flock away from subterfuge towards the light... "Lord Knows" we can always use more light :
Some of ya’ll may be familiar with my freestyle KING that I released in 2010, that touched on social issues and topics I felt important to speak on. I’d like to feel KING pt. 2 picks up where that left off. -K.R.I.T
The Austin emcee M.I samples some strings off the British super-group Coldplay. He then proceeds to use his melodic flow to help us get passed all the blah blah blah. " What we talkin bout real shit? We talkin bout rhymes/ you ain't talking bout a million then you wastin my time."
Now it's time to talk about whats important The Coldplay Sessions set to drop via DJ Booth on 2/21. For the visual to the first leak "Paradise" Shoot the J.
